In regard to this answer, keep the basic amount of chemical constant per
roll...

For dilutions that are extensive, you need more developer....  An
example....

If the manufacturer's directions state to use 1:4 with a minimum chemistry
of 16 ounces....  but you prefer to use 1:8 as a dilution factor, then  use
32 ounces of chemistry per roll.....

Xtol is one of those developers that exhausts easily...   If you are using a
small tank, or worst, a JOBO, then you must pay attention to developer
exhaustion.....especially if you are diluting the chemistry
significantly.....

Feli, isn't the developing reagent in Xtol easily exhausted requiring more
volume?  You might want to check your film surface area vs dev volume ratio
to see if you're falling
within recommended parameters (especially if you're
using 36 exp rolls in small tanks).
