I will sound like a heretic, but there is no scientific proof that tubes (
or valves as some call them) sound any different than analog solid state.
When the correct transfer function is employed, the scientifc results are
the same.

Now, taking this 1 step further, and for normal audio bandwidths, there is
no reason that recordings, when played back through a digital filter, and
again to analog, could also replicate any tube characteristic.

Your ears may vary.......

Yes, Clive, VALVES always sounded better and they still do today....Just
like film.
