Jim, or anyone on LUG,

Do you know if on the older 1a, to rewind the film, you had to do 2 things?

One, turn the rewind lever to R, but you also had to keep the shutter button
depressed?

I have a Leica 1a with mushroom button, serial number 14222. To rewind the
film, this camera needs its shutter button to be pressed down, and the
rewind lever turned to R.

Is there any record of such instructions?

My second 1a, with serial number 32791 (18 thousand and 5 hundred cameras
later!) doesn't have this restriction of needing the shutter button to be
pressed while rewinding.

Regards,

Vick Ko
