Subject: [Leica] Japanese paper reports Canon to take over Leica

Or maybe exactly the opposite Doug, what on earth would Canon want with 
Leica digital stuff.
I think the question should be - what does Leica have in the way of 
patents and technologies that Canon could use. Perhaps glass formulae, 
cast asphericals,grinding and polishing techniques, coating, lens 
calculation and QA software/hardware  Some of which is a step beyond the 
leading edge of technology..
