Subject: [Leica] scanning entire roll of 35mm
From: ausdlk at swbell.net (David Keenan)

I am please so far with the Nikon 5000 and it's roll film adapter.

I don't like the Nikon software for batch scanning of this nature --
couldn't actually figure out how to do it easily.

However, VueScan does the trick with the following caveats:

-- the first frame needs to be manually aligned before letting the scan go
on all the rest

-- VueScan doesn't appear to recognize the end of the film strip and will
continuously scan the last frame so I count the frames and specify this
before letting the whole thing rip

Vuescan acknowledges that it does not automatically align the first frame
(the Nikon software does). The second issue is probably a bug.

If anyone knows something I don't, please post.

Dave.
