I frequently hand/ship my exposed film over to my clients at the end of the
assignment, so that they see every frame long before I do. I do this because
I am a control freak -- when exposing my film. The chemical stuff I'm glad
to leave to the chemically minded. For me, photography has always been about
the light, not about the dark.
