Bruce,
I would acquire a dedicated 35mm scanner, the last one standing is the Nikon
V or 5000, to scan the 35mm slides.  I just would not use a flatbed for
anything other than web work if the original is 35mm or smaller.

As to medium and larger negatives, the V700 looked pretty good especially as
I don't envision going over 20 inches in size for my images.
