A. To catch something before it disappears, either within or without. To 
keep my eye and mind alive. To take the perfect picture (then the next 
one -- still working on the first).

B. Light. People and what they do (includes 'scapes)

C. "Why?" Sounds like one of my grandchildren: "Why do you want to take my 
picture? Why?" Because I can't help myself, you are so beautiful, the light 
is so beautiful, the way you look in a photograph is so nearly beautiful, 
life is so beautiful I have to freeze it for an instant. I fool myself.
