Hi Ric,
As soon as it opened the re-action was...."too much sun burst!" :-( Even 
though it appears you used flash fill!

Maybe you picked too big a hole in the rose cluster for the sun to come 
through or the sun didn't break up enough off the petal edges. But the burst 
effect is somewhat overwhelming.

How to correct it?

Well I'd try shooting with the sun coming through a smaller hole between 
flowers for one. Or blocking it completely behind the flowers letting it 
become a kind of backlit rim lighting. Another might be to capture the "sun 
glow" through petals without the flash fill. But it's worth a play around 
trying different things.

Certainly work it well without the flash because using the natural light you 
can really see what the effect is and move about knowing "what you see is 
what you get." Certainly over a flash blast.
