Phillipe:  The big rodent is a prairie dog, and a rather fat one.  He
does look a bit like a marmot. Both rodents make a whistling call.
Prairie dog are social animals.  They live in clusters of burrows called
"prairie dog towns."  Some of the animals rest and look for food while
others literally stand watch.  People think they're cute when they stand
up. This one was sleeping on the job, I think!  :-)
