Eric,
I bought a 50 ASPH and don't regret it at all. Of course I kept the three
50 Summicrons, the Elmar, the Summarit, Summitar, Summar, Canon 1.8, Canon
1.4, Sonnar 1.5..... I really don't use the other fifties except for
specific looks but learned a long time ago that selling a lens was too
painful unless it was mint or better in which case I wouldn't use it.

The 50 ASPH is just a beautiful lens, sharp, almost flare free, flat field,
good close up, clean image into the corners. The only thing that I would
change is the size of the lens hood which is too small, remember I am the
guy who uses a hood designed for a 100 mm lens on my other fifities.

You will not go wrong if you buy one.
