Subject: [Leica] Boston T and Bob Dylan

Well, going back to my comment to Ric and his response...actually, I have
real concerns about programs like soundslide and similar tools that media
sites are now using, that incorporate sound tracks - commentary, and
background sounds, with photos. Those, I think will kill still photography
by turning it into slow video. I don't see using music with a slide show as
any different from - playing music with a slide show, which people have been
doing pretty much ever since there've been slide shows. But the idea of
putting ambient sound and commentary together with photos is, it seems to
me, either saying that still photos can't speak for themselves, or that only
video is acceptable - and that, it seems to me, threatens the survival of
serious still photography more than issues related to pay, copyright
control, etc. etc.
