Greg,

I use the plain glass one with my Nikon 9000, the FH-869G, which is
about a hundred dollars cheaper. I'm not sure what the rotating
carrier does that this one does not. I use it for 120 all the time --
I've scanned other sizes with it, all the way down to Minox, but never
127. With 120, the Nikon scanner software automatically senses whether
you have a strip of 6x4.5, 6x6, or 6x7 inserted and generates the
thumbnails appropriately. I've had no trouble with Newton rings at
all.

Nikon should have included this holder with the scanner, IMHO, since
the medium format holder that is included is pretty much unusable.
