it's a litlle cliff, with many caves which were ornated and enlarged
to make passages, used as warehouses or even houses; nobody knows
exactly who made the decoration, but it seems commonly accepted that
it was done while it was a monastery.

Left hand of the picture there is a waterfall and a little torrent
that flows a few meters to end into the river Taju?a that makes a
nice meander there. Over the cliff there are a few houses, no more
than 10 if my memory serves well.

It's an ancient place, probably of roman origin as many of the near
villages. The first written document comes from 1441 when the monks
bought it, then It was treated as farm place with a little fortifed
building, probably that seen on the top of the cliff, or something
previously located there..
