Daniel, to use the older K-mount lenses with auto diaphragm (K-1000 era) you
just have to make one setting in the menu and leave it there forever.  That
enables the camera to detect the manual aperture setting on the older lens,
which can then be used in either Av or Manual mode.  If the lens has an "A"
setting you can use that instead and get all the modes.  Preset lenses would
be a little different, but I haven't used them.  You have to manual focus
(of course) but the focus light and beep will still function to assist you.
