I'm fine with all of that except your item 4:

A good photographer is not necessarily a good theme-picker, and might not
even like the idea of picking a theme. I think that people should suggest
themes by mail to the LUG and that some small cabal should use utterly
un-democratic processes to decide which of those suggested themes, if any,
will be used.
