like the Sony, but not enough to stray.....

Jeffery, what about that new Sony Alpha?
Some nice Zeissy glass on the list to go with the 10MP.
And of course a full frame version rumoured. There are an awful lot of 35mm
lenses in their line up. I figure, if I ever get a DSLR, I don't owe any
allegiance to the old school (Japanese)camera companies.

I bought one Saturday.  I like it immensely. The anti-shake  really works, 
effectively giving me at least two more stops without affecting  the dof.

The larger lcd on the back makes for easier viewing.  You  can rotate images

in camera.  The VF is a tiny bit smaller than, but just  as bright as the
ist 
Ds.    
 
All the stuff I posted today was shot with it.
