Adam mon ami,
I don't want to freak you out, but the lens caps are usually the first
things I throw away when I unpack new lens and cameras!! :-)

True, as they're nothing but a pain in the butt and if one uses them some
great instant photo moments are lost while fiddling around talking them off.

My Noctilux has neither lens cap nor lens hood for at least the past 26
years or so and the glass is just as great as it was when purchased in 1973?
if not then as soon as it was available in Canada because I had the first if
not close to the first sold in the country.

Most of the time you'll end up loosing them anyway so save time and throw
them away then you don't have to worry about them anymore. ;-)
