or someone who's browsing the lug archives harvesting emails and  
testing them for validity.

The archive software transforms the email from header, but it does  
not make the same to emails which are into the body [as you can see  
in this example http://leica-users.org/v30/msg03214.html ], as quoted  
text or signatures, so it's an relatively easy target a robot to  
collect them. :(

On the bright side, it shouldn't be too hard to patch the software to  
apply  a regexp to match the email addresses.
