Subject: [Leica] new M mount 35mm wide angle camera

Frank I understand what you have said. I think that they are referring to
system performance with the Zeiss wides. Always very positive marketing
spin, of course.
Regarding the body, the build quality is not the same as a Bessa L. The
Cosina production has progressively advanced with each new model. The ZI at
least is well screwed together, I think. However, I know that Jeffery Smith,
for example has had mechanical (shutter) problems with his. But the part
chopped off for the SW is probably the best bit, the VF. You can get the
double shoe effect with an accessory from C/Voigtlander, if needed. Or put
the same wides on any M with a finder, of course.

FWIW, I think it is too expensive, as well, but still great to see any new M
body and developments.

Cheers
Hoppy

Panorama and SW .....my behind....

The camera has a 24x36 film area and no VF...... Same as the original Bessa
L but with M mount..... and a significantly higher
price.....

"... The Zeiss Ikon SW offers the same extremely high image quality as the
known Zeiss Ikon rangefinder camera: far above today's
digital cameras. "

What image quality? ... it is a box. There is no optics....

Marketing hype on a $100 camera = an 800 Euro Camera......
