I'm glad to see I'm not alone.  I had two to "clean."  I clamped them 
into a large vise one at a time and flailed away with hammer and 
chisel until they succumbed.  Since the two I had to "clean" were 
only about a week old, there was considerable personal cleansing 
involved in the process, too.  ;-)
