The images you are probably referring to are slides sandwiches.  I'll often 
go through some old images that did not quite work,
whether because of exposure or slight "lack of interest" and see if I can 
combine one or two and get something interesting.  In the
old days I would slip two pieces of film into the same mount, but now I 
(meaning a person) could  do It with  the computer.

I am one of those few people left who just like film.  I have not seen a 
power point image that looks as vibrant as a slide on a
good screen.  But technology keeps moving forward and who knows?
