If you sort by sender's time you get that mess. I don't know which 
mailclient you use, but my mail inbox can be sorted by local date/time of 
arrival at the mailserver, which resolves the mentioned problem. 

But there's one list member's Linux system that is able to underrun this 
rule and his mail are always dated from the future.
