It seems that a B&W only M8 would be lower cost to build than the
color model - no need for a Bayer filter. However, I have no idea what
the color response of an unfiltered sensor is. Chances are it is not
the same as any film known to Leicakind.
If a B&W M8 is an M8 with a Bayer filter and a fixed RGB to B&W
converter built in, it is a dumb idea. Even if they provide options
for selecting the RGB % in camera - why bother? The pics could just as
well be converted to B&W in software on a computer.
