It is not being old fashioned, it is shooting within a tradition.  
Photography is old enough, with hundreds of strains running through  
it, that one can pick any mannerism, or any style, to shoot in. One  
can pick a visual style, of the shelf so to say, for any of the other  
crafts. Why not the same for photography? Besides only a moron would  
claim to be original, claiming their so called artistry to be ex nihilo.
