You might also try other RAW converters such as Bibble 
(www.bibblelabs.com) I have had good luck with some difficult  photos 
by changing to another converter. I'm not sure if Bibble supports the 
M8 yet but I know that it supports the DMR and they are pretty quick 
about getting out new camera support.
