Subject: [Leica] No M8 for me in November

Brian, drifting off into personal opinion here. Maybe because my formative
years were with chrome SLR bodies, I think that the black
lenses look perfectly normal on the chrome bodies. Other way around looks
odd though. I'd actually almost prefer to have chrome
lenses in that that might be thought to be more traditional (brass/vs
aluminium construction). I think that the markings are a
little easier to see on the black versions, though. However I know that the
chromes are greatly outsold by their black versions and
Leica has dropped most of the options for the chromes.
I thought my M6 (sadly traded in)with chrome was much prettier than my M7
with the black finish. Must be my retro gene kicking in.
Maybe there are some black paint editions in the M8's future? I think that
would be gorgeous to behold.
No accounting for taste, as the old lady said when she kissed the cow.
Cheers
Hoppy

I have three M lenses, and all of them are black.
They would look dorky on a chrome body.
I want a black one, and I'm willing to wait.
I'm pretty sure that if I'd wanted a chrome M8, I could have left the store
with it today.
