Nope, you don't need to own the M8. Unless having a picture of it counts! I 
can read the DNG's off the net with CS2. You need the
latest RAW converter plug in , though.

Well, not many of us have the M8 ;-) You are suffering the trials of being
a first cab off the rand user: clearly the DNG files of the DMR and M8
differ somehow. This is probably related to the incamera compression. I
suspect you will have to use the LEICA supplied software till the others
update
