Jeffery, no need to apologise about film and developer threads.
There's certainly an interested cadre here
Cheers

Part of the issue is probably my reluctance to jump into the middle of an M8
dicusssion to ask a question about Rodinal or hardening fixers. ;-)

Jeffery,
Well, for the most part rangefinders are still raging on. Tina and Ted will
be showing us more and more of their M8 images. For the most part, all of
my PAW's are film based, M originated images.

Many on this list are still shooting film, probably a minority at this point
but still a significant number. Digital is attracting the attention because
the work flow is much easier. I must admit that developing film is becoming
a minor chore and my preference is E-6 as the processing is for me much
easier(someone else does the work) But, I shot what will probably be some
very good images of the framers working on the house next door and the
excitement of looking at the negatives for the first time tomorrow morning
will be the same rush as it has always been.

Possibly it is the same reason that we no longer endlessly debate the
optical qualities of first generation Summicrons versus Summitar's; the
points have all been made many times. In the past few years there haven't
been too many radical breakthroughs in film. The new IR from Rollei is
pretty interesting as you don't have to load it in the dark, the new Velvia
100F brings back most of the qualities of the old Velvia with some lessening
of the over the top red saturation. Yawn.

The beer in the saloon is still just the way you want it, the scenes from
rural Britain continue to amaze, travelogues from Amsterdam and nearby
countries down to Seville bring us to places we probably will never go,
photo tips and crits from Ted help us all get better.

So, your point that we have a large group of friends that occasionally talk
about Leica's and film is well taken. Clink, cheers and long life.
