Over time, the topics of discussion have evolved, as our gear has evolved. But the list has remained vibrant and interesting precisely because it is such a broad tent. I have been on other lists during the past 8 years, including the CVUG, the Kodachrome list, the HUG. Those lists are/were much more focused on the gear than on the images, and as a result they have become boring and mostly dormant. What would one discuss on a Kodachrome list these days? Choice of processing labs in the US? ;-) No, the LUG is fine just like it is now, and I hope it stays that way forever. I am sure we will be discussing the M10 in a couple of years, but in the end it will all be about the images, and that is how it should be. I am one of those who have migrated to digital, as have many members of the LUG, but I notice that if someone asks a question about film or processing or some other traditional technique, there are plenty of (usually helpful) replies.
