thanks Philippe. I saw this when I was reviewing the Vuescan  
documents. It all sounds easy ;-) and I know I'm a bit of a wimp, but  
somehow I still can't decide what settings to use. Colour space etc  
is a space I don't really understand: well I'll keep reading
