While I agree this a big feck up on Leica's part, this is going to happen
with the digital age of cameras. Kodak introduced the 14n Pro dSLR and
shipped out cameras knowing full well there were many problems with this
Frankenstein of a camera. then they came out with the 14n II or whatever it
was, still had problems and became the only camera I'm aware of to have a
$1000 rebate. It's almost standard practice with automakers to ship with
defects.

Yes, there should have been some kind warning with the reviews to delay
first shipments.

It's happened with other camera companies and camera models. As I mentioned
Kodak above.
