Sonny.. .he spelled it right ... if you  listen to how many 
"'muricans"  pronounce it.

Sorta like  "roof", which is "roof" everywhere outside the US. Inside 
the US, it's  most often pronounced "ruff".

Oh.. Down here it is different.  Our bishop, by the way is  (Winnipeg) 
Canadian and has been in California, Texas, then Louisiana for many  years, 
and 
can't seem to shake "aboot."    ;-)
