When we visited my wife's family in Norway, we took a trip up to Nord Kapp, the northernmost (almost) spot in Europe. The Suomi, that group of people that inhabit the arctic areas of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia, herd large populations of reindeer, just as cowboys herd cows. It's no longer a cottage industry. Huge slaughter houses and meat packing houses are located strategically in the frigid landscape. The Suomi use snowmobiles and computers and drive Mercedes cars in the off season. Now if we could only get a few Suomi to move a bit south and control the deer population in the Northeast, we could all eat better and my wife could grow her begonias again. Larry Z
