Steve and others;

I am extremely glad for all this special equipment since our
daughter was in a similar situation nearly 24 years ago as a
7 week premature arrival.  Now she is a grad student at
Indiana University.

And that, for me, is the point--I do not see the machinery
as hostile in 
any way. I see it as a tool in the hands of doctors like
Steve, which 
helps them save the child's life. I think medical technology
is 
wonderful, and nowhere more so than when to put to uses like
what Steve 
has shown (I am less enthusiastic when it is used to
transplant a uterus 
so that a woman can carry her "own" child when there are so
many 
adoptable children out there).
