Thanks Wade (and others); I think I am starting to figure out the 
terminology and functions of Lightroom.

I now understand that where I use to 'open' a folder, now I will 
'import' it.  And although I 'import' it, it really stays where it was.

And then I adjust (and keyword) the 'imported' images.

And it 'knows' where everything is.

;-)

It's a brave new world you young people are creating, but I think I'm 
going to enjoy working in it.
