Make SURE you have a heart-to-heart talk with the physicians who deal
with pain management. There seem to be lots of "old school" physicians
who are afraid to treat for pain. It doesn't have to be that way. I've
been talking with lots of people who have had knee replacements and
heard some real horror stories about how pain wasn't properly treated.
If there are issues with pain management now they need to be resolved.

I'm NOT a medical doctor (or any other kind for that matter) but I
know that there have been huge changes in this area.
