I disagree with this statement. There are two reasons why Macs are more 
resistant to firewalls than Windows machines are, and neither of those 
reasons involves drivers or firewalls. A Windows machine is a Windows 
machine, whether it is physical or virtual, and if you can get web pages to 
it then you can get viruses to it.

I do not consider a Parallels-emulated Windows machine to be any more virus 
resistant than a physical windows machine. If you don't want it to get 
viruses, then don't connect it to the network and/or run antivirus software 
on it.

In my experience a Parallels-emulated Windows machine is just as fast as a 
Dell or HP Windows machine. I have not seen any slowdown, even for things 
like Photoshop.
