I had no complaints with my Nikon F's either. Loved them. Had a half
dozen of them over the years.

Hated the Nikon N series cameras and the auto zooms made for them.

Had and hated the Leica R3. Never handled a R6.2.

Much of this type of discussion has much to do with very personal
feelings about camera body and lens handling. I think all the (pro
level) systems are just great for their various users.

I've never been a motorized, auto focus, auto exposure sort of
fellow. Never felt comfortable with those. I come from a view camera,
medium format, take your time, look hard, how's the light, compose,
focus, manual everything background. When I use the auto features; I
get sloppy; and see slop in the images. That does not translate into
critiquing others who do wonderful precise work with auto set ups.
I've probably just not spent enough time on auto to get comfortable
with it.

I recognize the need for the auto stuff. I admire the top end sports
photographers, like Ted's son, who capture the best the equipment can
deliver.
