No idea Philippe. I really don't follow the financial stuff (which is
why I'm dirt poor).

Again. I can't afford to buy new Leica anything with the rare
exception of M8 and 50 lux asph.
So, I don't look at what's on the shelf. It appears that there's a
good deal of new R glass available in Europe at retail price points.
This is just a feeling on my part by occasionally looking at vendors
lists.

Don't know.

Not sure how many units of one sort or another a small company has to
sell. No idea what percentage of Leica branded Panasonics go to Pano.
Nor what percentage of Pano's with Leica lenses brand goes to Leica.
I have to assume that things are going OK with all of that.

When I said they made a profit - I based that on someone posting on
these pages a recent P&L report.

I leave it to the bean counters.

That's how I figure it.

Well no. My life long dreams do not rest on Leica camera company. My
life long (photographic) dreams rest on image making. I've managed to
make images with all manner of gear. Currently: Leica digital
equipment is making me and my clients quite happy. If Leica goes away
I won't resent it. They've had a really good and fun run of it. I may
move to medium format digital if Leica doesn't continue improving
their pro level digital equipment. Who knows?

One things for sure. We live in interesting and uncertain times.
