Rethinking the spider problem, and remembering Tina's and Ted's  
suggestion for M's that fell into the water: putting them in the oven  
for hours at low temperatures, I started searching for maximum  
temperature tolerances of an M and/or R.
If they would take about 70?C, it would sure be enough to kill the  
spider, and to shrink it effectively.
But I didn't find these tolerances. On the other hand, I found  
something that might be of interest for film lovers that want to use  
their Leica lenses on a digital camcorder:
