Today's used camera is rarely a camera that will be used.

If you go beyond the perceived premium brands, you'll still find film
cameras at fire-sale prices.

I guess the difference between the watches and the cameras is that  
someone who pays $14K for an M3 probably will never use it. And so  
things like film selection or where to get it processed mean nothing  
to this person.
