Jim,

Thanks for the benefit of your experiences with the adapters and the chip. I 
will look into the chip later, while still learning how to use manual focus 
effectively without the chip.

Do you have to provide any inputs to the camera's menu to enable the chip to 
work, or is this done automatically?
