As I consider why I "see" beauty in rowed, paddled and wind driven
water transportation; gliders, kites and balloons; while not having
aesthetic appreciation for power boats, power planes, rockets, jets,
etc. I've come to realize that I've included the sound and "smell" or
lack there of in my aesthetic judgement.

While growing up on the bauhaus dictum of form following function -
not all designs which follow this approach end up beautiful - at this
moment I'm thinking of those items where the function being followed
is, in itself, grotesque.

;~)

Fond regards,
George
