This is really a question of how much control of the subject size:to  
chip area - over what focusing range.

With no additional attachments you'll have a very useable macro range  
for general macro work.
When you find yourself wanting more control of various magnifications  
(and/or working distances), you'll begin to get a feel for what "you"  
want in terms of versatility. Or you may find that it's not for you -  
as apparently many here have.

Bottom line: a Visoflex III and any M mount lens will immediately  
produce very satisfying macro results.
