Although Sony has Zeiss there's Zony Seiss and there's Zeiss of a few
years back. The Contax lenses I have are equal to Leica, in term of
build and performance. I know because I've used the side by side.

Years back I bought a Contax system from another photographer. I already
had an R system. I ended up having a lot of duplication on both systems.
The only difference that I could see was color balance. Contax was great
because I was shooting weddings at the time. Both 120 (Hasselblad) and
35mm looked the same. My lab (remember when labs did all the processing?
Just drop off the film and pick up the proofs!) was pleased. I ended up
selling my R gear and keeping the Contax, something that might not have
been so wise in retrospect.

I agree about Nikon needing to upgrade their primes. All the attention
seems to be on zooms. Probably because that's where the money is.

What if Nikon just buys Leica and we can have superior lenses on
superior
camera bodies? Sony has Zeiss.

Nikon needs a new 28,35,and 50.
