Alastair - today and tomorrow are Journ?es du Patrimoine" you can visit 
for free most public buildings in France, Elys?e included, but there you 
might find a queue LoL
So if you had a museum in mind that's when - they're closed on Tuesdays 
so now the choice is yours.
