The Netherlands has two official languages. Dutch and Fries. There are
of course a lot of dialects and accents.
Belgium has three official languages, Dutch, French and German. They
speak their Dutch a bit different then we do over here but we can
perfectly understand each other. In language competitions the Belgians
are most of the times even better in Dutch than the Dutch.
Then there is Boers in South-Africa which is a derivative from Dutch.
With some effort we can also understand each other very well.
