First, you do not "invest" someone with an 
honourary degree:  the degree is awarded 
precisely as most of us had various degrees 
awarded in our time, honourary or earned.

Second, I have corrected the subject line.  The 
word is ill-chosen, but let us at the least spell it correctly.
