Though Leica should have come forth sooner with the M8 faults and problems, 
Nikon and Canon have done far worse with some of their digital dSLR's. Nikon 
told me that my D2h meter failure was not their fault even when hundreds of 
emails had already shown up on forums about the meter failure. Fighting with 
a company when your product is still under warranty is a royal pain in the 
arse. Finally they admitted the problem, but only all the forum posts. And a 
shutter blade problem came up later.

Canon's 1D MkIII problems are still reported, even after Canon had to send 
many pros completely new cameras, forgoing even fixing the original came.

Jeff and I met up one night so he could show me the new M8, and when he 
turned it on nothing happened. Ouch.
